Six Senses collection of luxury hotels and resorts around the world are known for their dedication to environmental and social responsibility. At the heart of their approach is a deep-seated passion for not just protecting the earth, but for being a regenerative business that gives back more than it takes. One of the first hotel chains to sign onto the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, led by the UN Environment Programme, Six Senses has also launched its own initiative called "Plastic Freedom." The goal was to eliminate single-use plastics and adopt circular solutions through supplier engagement, starting with their "18 Most Unwanted" items, such as plastic bottles. Six Senses is also restoring marine habitats through projects such as growing and replanting coral reefs, controlling overfishing through purchasing policies, funding conservation research, planting seagrass and protecting nesting turtles on their beaches.

Amazingly professional staff. Greeted by every staff member we passed during our days there. Gorgeous views from fantastically appointed rooms. Lovely grounds. The spa services are also excellent. This was only part of a three location Lisbon holiday, but we'll do a full week here next time.

This hotel is a treat. The spa is fantastic with wonderful massages, medi spa services, and biologique recherche facials. The indoor pool is great with a wonderful hot and cold tub. We loved the room on the whole with wonderful amenities and the emphasis on wellness and comfort. The views are wonderful. The only issue we had with the panoramic suite was an intermittent loud banging sound in the room until past midnight. We didn't say anything because it only happened on the first and third night so we weren't sure after the first night if it was going to happen more than that once. It was the only slightly not perfect thing in an otherwise more than perfect hotel. All in all we love it and can't wait to return. It's very expensive but it's a lovely treat. They even rinsed our car before we left!

THE place to stay in the Douro Valley. A beautiful resort with views of the river, a peaceful outdoor pool, great dining options, and best of all - the spa. We were so relaxed here. You can take several walks around the property through vines or into the woods. The concierge also has incredible suggestions for nearby activities!

Drinks and bar snacks only. Valet parking service. Situated majestically against the vineyard backdrop. Friendly, attentive service on arrival. Exceptional attention to detail. Magnificent general garden for walks and well laid out veggie gardens. A real treat to visit.
