Lofthotel Am Walensee Hotel

The impact of this hotel

The Lofthotel, committed to sustainable construction since 2002, prioritizes climate change mitigation through building preservation and reliance on renewable energies. Utilizing existing materials and sourcing timber from their woodland for construction, the hotel minimizes its carbon footprint by regeneratively heating with excess wood. Hydroelectric power and organic waste cover the hotel's energy needs, and the original thick walls maintain an excellent indoor climate without air-conditioning. Solar energy powers the restaurant's kitchen. In addition to sustainability, the hotel practices ethical, social, and gender equality, involving every employee in decision-making, and regularly gathering and implementing their inputs into the business model.

The hotel lobby was extremely clean. Very nicely decorated. the room was big, comfortable and had a beautiful view as well. the balcony was easy to access although it wasn't quite isolated enough from the next door, public balcony. What I believe the room could use is some more art. these rooms have history connected to them, which could be further presented through art works or pictures on the walls. Overall though, a very beautiful place to stay either with family friends or even alone.

Nice place, with good idea and history. It was a little bit cold when we arrived in the room, and took longer to warm the high ceiling room. Easter breakfast was very nice and well organized, and we enjoyed it. The room is in industrial style and a little basic furnished. Receptionist is not there after some time, so there was no one to ask for additional blankets. For us was a a bit more money for value. Nevertheless we enjoyed on our stay at the hotel and region around Walensee.

We booked the apartment hotel suite TURMLOFT for 2 weeks through a 3rd party. Overall, very expensive based on what you get; service is non-existing, not a well equipped kitchen, no cleaning and restricted hours to use of gym. However, it’s a beautiful location and could be a very pleasant stay if they fixed the above mentioned things (in details below) We were shown to our room by the friendly young receptionist when we arrived. The apartment was not cleaned properly when we arrived. The place itself is quite unique and has a spectacular view. For a 2 week stay, we had 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 2 face towels. It makes no sense to only have towels sets for 2 people in an apartment for at least 4 people. Furthermore, there was no cleaning for 2 weeks straight (that was disgusting!!) and no equipment to do it ourselves - Also, there were no additional sheets or towels to change yourself during the week. You have to pay extra if you needed to get extra sheets and towels. To use the gym - you need to pay an additional cost. The reception is only administrated from 8am-9pm. So you can only work out within the reception’s working hours. The kitchen is not that well equipped, but for a day or two it would work. We had to buy our own pan, pot and knife as it was ridiculously hard to work with the existing ones. There’s no sponges, cloth or paper/dish towels. We also bought that ourselves. We even paid for parking space - even though we had 2 nights where there were no parking spaces left in front of the hotel. The receptionist just said: “you have to come early to claim your spot. We’ve reserved one for you”. She had me pay for all nights. Even the ones where I had to park on public spaces and walk 5 mins to get to the hotel.

Stayed in an economy room for one night and was 100% positively surprised. Candles in the clean room, chocolate, tea…. Great quality sheets and staff was 100% outstanding. Very kind and genuine.
