Hotel Orca Praia

Just had an excellent week at the Orca Praia. A fantastic hotel the staff were very friendly and so helpful. The breakfast was very good with a wide range of well cooked foods. We ate in the restaurant a couple of evenings which was also very good. The rooms were very clean and tidy. The best thing about the hotel has to be the views out to sea absolutely stunning. The pool area was nice and chill as well. We enjoyed it so much we've already booked for next year something which we had never done before as a family. (Returned to same hotel) Maderia is a beautiful island so much to explore and so friendly and chill.

Recently visited the Hotel Orca Praia with my husband and 7 year old son. The views are spectacular from the balcony. The hotel was clean and modern. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. The location is fabulous for a quiet break. It is a bit of a way out from Funchal on foot but the local bus service makes up for it. We loved it so much, we have re-booked this hotel for summer 2024!

Taking into account only 3 stars my expectations were pretty low. We decided to book the hotel due to location - with perfect view on the ocean to have the opportunity to hear it while sleeping plus saw it as good spot to travel through island using rental car. Parking is free, however if you want to make sure the place for you will be there it's required to pay 5 euros per day. It's also possible to park next to the main road, free "white" spaces are there. Rooms are very cleaned, renewed recently, really big with perfect view. Breakfast typical for 3 stars hotel, repeating itself, however tasty. Staff is friendly, helpful, great command of English, noticed they also speak German. What is worth to mention that to get to the beach you can partially use elevator, but less than half of the distance you need to go using stars. Usually it's not a problem, however I see it as a blocker for people with disabilities and little kids.

Our stay was simply perfect. Hotel is nice, staff is helpfull and kind, breakfast is delicious… Nothing more to say :) Thank you! The room was clean and got everything that we needed. It was nice to fall asleep to the sound of the waves !
