Great place to stay in Helsinki. We had one of the suites, which came with a sauna in the room. My family enjoyed it. The breakfast is excellent with lots of choices and great coffee. The staff is super friendly. The location is one the very best in Helsinki. We will definitely choose Helka again on a next trip to Finland.

Visited last summer one afternoon, and had an excellent tour with the lovely older woman who works there. Luckily, my companion and I were the only ones for that tour, so we were able to have it in English (I hardly speak a word of Finnish although my Swedish is passably decent). Just beware if you're going that Finnish takes precedent for the tours there. Regardless of that, the interior is exceptional as a museum space, and the tour we had was very well done!

Will stay here again next time I go to Helsinki. Location is great, just 10 min walk (away from the traffic) from the central train station. We had the “smart room” and was great: big, very comfortable bed, super soft linen, big bathroom. Many design furniture pieces everywhere, a pleasure to see for an interior designer! The rooms were very quiet, no traffic noise or noises from other rooms. Saunas were great, small but very very nice and new (great design again). The soaps and cream in rooms and saunas were great. Staff were hyper nice and helpful. And the buffet breakfast...best I have had in such a long time! Plenty of gluten free options (including several types of bread and pastries). All the allergens were marked so it was easy to know what we could eat. Food was top quality. Many many different vegetable milk options and they have decaf coffee (in powder but it’s organic and good quality).

I stayed only one night in a single room. I wish I could have spent more time at the hotel. The size of the room I stayed in was sufficient. Cleaning was fine. The breakfast was very good, there was a wide variety of products that could appeal to people from different cultures. There was no tourist information office at Helsinki airport; I couldn't get the city map I got from every airport I went to. It was gratifying to find maps and many brochures in Helka. If you arrive in Helsinki late from the road and are hungry, you can get sandwiches or other items from the vending machine right next to the reception. If I had more time, I would definitely like to try the massage service. The decor of the hotel was very nice. The location was not bad, you can reach the train station and central bus stops on foot. It was fairly quiet and there were no disturbing noises at night. I was able to rest comfortably and prepare to leave the next day. The bed was very comfortable. Room temperatures were fine. Definitely a hotel I can recommend. It will be a place I will choose to stay in my next Helsinki visits.
