One of the best places to stay in Vienna. The rooms are uniquely decorated in an exclusive townehome away from home experience. I loved the beautiful big windows throughout the hotel that opened and provided fresh air in October. The breakfast was first class. Caviar plus anything you could imagine. The Views from the breakfast room were beautiful. Complimentary wine was provided at check in and every afternoon they had complimentary homemade cakes and specialty loose leaf teas. I enjoyed the local area and the restaurants nearby that were less touristy and of higher quality and value. I stayed only 3 nights but wished I stayed a week. If you are a Hyatt member you can use your yearly free nights at this location. The best way to experience Vienna is to live it in style!

Loved our stay at Altstadt! The staff at reception made us feel at home and were helpful with all of our needs. The building itself has its own unique feel, very artsy yet comfortable. The breakfast spread was delicious. We were here during easter weekend and the staff even gave us a handwritten card wishing us a happy Easter along with a basket of goodies! Will stay again!

From the unassuming Viennese entrance, you might wonder if there would be anything worth coming inside for...but I would recommend that you do! From the modern reception area to the wonderfully welcoming salon and the spacious rooms, the Altstadt Hotel did not disappoint in any way. Situated in a quiet side street, but an easy walk to the Museum Quarter and City Centre, we found the location to be the best balance of both central and peaceful. The ultimate strength of this boutique hotel is in the staff, who were some of the most happy, helpful, attentive and efficient that I have ever encountered. From the reception staff to the servers at breakfast & afternoon tea, along with the extremely efficient housekeeping staff, they were absolutely exceptional. The variety of options at breakfast catered for every possible taste and dietary requirement and there was always a 'breakfast eggs' special which changed daily and was invariably delicious. The afternoon tea is also a feast for the tastebuds and we always made sure to have a break in our explorations and return for some rest, relaxation & recharging before going out for the evening. It was my birthday on the final day of our stay and when we returned to the room they had left a card and sweets, which was really unexpected and much appreciated. I would recommend the Altstadt to anyone who prefers a 'home from home' type of hotel with an emphasis on exceptional customer service.

A terrific hotel in the perfect location (far enough away from the chaos of the centre but close enough walking distance). Breakfast is a delight and afternoon tea a real treat. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and super welcoming. Only complaint would be that noise can travel through the corridors where there’s a fire exit and can disrupt the peace. Other than that I couldn’t fault this place.
