Hotel Granados 83, a member of Design Hotels

This hotel was a highlight in our experience in Barcelona. The hotel staff was incredibly kind and helpful, accommodating all our needs. The duplex apartment was spacious enough for us to work from the room, but also do our workouts, yoga and swim in the semi-private pool. Breakfast was delicious, including the room service. Location is just perfect! I loved our stay and would be happy to come back!

Unfortunately, the rooms are in bad condition, with scratched furniture, and both the curtains and towels had holes in our room. The bathrooms also smelled fishy and when we first entered our room, the room scent was very intense, and we could still smell that people had previously smoked in the rooms. Breakfast is underwhelming and gym is a tiny room with a thread mill and a broken cycling machine. Could be a nice hotel if it was given more love and care, but in it's current condition, I would stay it's rather a 2-star than a 4-star hotel and not really worth the money.

This hotel was beautiful and ticked every box for us. We stayed in Barcelona for four nights in Grenados 83 hotel, firstly the staff were exceptionally attentive. We upgraded our room and it was lovely, we had everything we needed in the room. Room was modern and stylish. The receptionist who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. We received a few leaflets and maps to help guide us around Barcelona and also what attractions were available. Hotel is situated roughly in the middle of Barcelona so we never had to walk overly far for restaurants or attractions. Would definitely stay here again

Our stay was very disappointing due to the false advertisement of this hotel. The hotel was advertised as “sound proof rooms” and “a smoke free hotel”. Both of these statements are false. The noise from other guests was ridiculously loud and could be heard very clearly from inside the room. We were woken up by another rooms alarm two mornings which were left to ring in excess of 40 minutes. They hosted a private 18th birthday party one night of our stay that went on until 1am which was incredibly disruptive. The other major issue was the fact that the whole hotel smelled of cannabis, the smell even transported to inside of our hotel room and was incredibly strong. People were smoking inside their rooms and also on the rooftop bar which is actually an inclosed space attached to the stairway, hence why the smell traveled throughout the whole hotel. When we raised this with the hotel manager, we were told that there “wasn’t anything they could do” and they can’t control what other guests are doing inside their rooms. We had booked a superior room and the only suggestion was to move us to a downgraded room to get us away from our smokey neighbours. This would not have helped the issue as the whole hotel smelled. They weren’t interested in finding a solution and used avoidance tactics until we checked out. It’s a real shame because the hotel was nicely decorated and we were happy with our room when we first arrived but these two issues really were a deal breaker. Very disappointing.
