331 reviewsIn 2006, Marten Dresen, founder of the Good Hotel, was traveling through Guatemala when he met Mirna, a girl with no shoes, and decided to buy her a pair of Converse trainers. This kick-started a chain reaction that led to the creation of Good Hotel Antigua, where every good night's sleep will help a disadvantaged child go to school for a week. Good Hotel is an organization that enables local communities to thrive and facilitates training that will help secure a sustainable future for disadvantaged children and their parents.
All excess profits from Good Hotel Antigua go towards Niños de Guatemala, a foundation that was co-founded in 2007 by Marten Dresen, providing underprivileged children with the education they would otherwise be deprived of. Niños de Guatemala now runs two primary schools and a secondary school, housing over 600 local children. The Good Training Program was established in 2015 to provide bespoke hospitality training for local people, including three months of classroom study and paid work experience.

Beautiful property in a lovely neighbourhood. Helpful staff arranged our transport from the airport and assisted us with any request. Our room was gorgeous and impeccably clean, with local pour over coffee in room for the morning. the hotel is involved with local charity work in elementary education, so we slept even better supporting this company.

My family stayed in 2 rooms with the loft bedrooms. Everything was perfect - comfy beds, super clean, good wifi, filtered water, fantastic restaurant attached, great location. But the best part was the staff. We had a medical emergency during our stay and every staff member was so helpful and kind. We would absolutely stay here again.

This is a hotel with personality. Its not only beautiful and quiet, comfortable and with good taste, it also dedicates each room to a local kid and its profits are destined to three schools. Beautiful, tasteful and useful.

The Good Hotel is a great hotel on a fairly quest street near the edge of town. The staff is friendly, the rooms are delightful and the location is great. The rooms are named after kids who are in their program. Each night you stay allows a kid to go to school for a week. Great concept.
