The Wesley Hotel was founded in 1950 by Hilda Porter, a Methodist missionary, who started the organization after returning to post-war Britain from the Far East. Originally the hotel’s purpose was to welcome international students to the UK- those who were otherwise unable to find affordable accommodation in cities. Hilda's vision persists, providing financial support to diverse students across 20 disciplines. The hotel excels in ethical and environmental practices, earning the Social Enterprise Mark and recognition as a Carbon Champion by Camden Council.
