Wonderful hotel if you're looking for a quiet time away from the urban life. The workers are amazing, the swimming pool is incredible. Great place for bird watching if you're into that

This is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Wow it is so beautiful! Our room had a balcony that let us catch sunset over the gardens! There’s so much to explore since it used to be a monastery. We spent one night just walking around a few hours: the gardens, the cloisters, the library with royal dog portraits, the church, catching live music from the window above their wine bar, the bunnies jumping through the pool area, I could go on and on. A great breakfast of course in their restaurant with champagne and all the options you can think of. Very nice staff for whatever you need. It’s not walking distance to anything but it’s a short drive to Evora.

The best hotel experience I've had so far. Period. Funny story: had no idea this place even existed. Ended up here by total accident after our rental Tesla ran low on battery and the navigation brought us there as the closest spot with a dedicated charger. The plan was never to stay the night, but simply juice the car up a bit and move on. But from the first orange/mandarin grove at the parking lot, on to the winding halls to the reception, I had realized that this was no ordinary hotel. After making my way through the maze of the convent halls and rooms (while slightly bewitched by its interiors) to the reception, I was greeted by a lovely and smiling girl (Adriana was her name, if my memory serves me right), who told me that I can go ahead and charge my car free of charge, even though we were not staying there. She then graciously offered to show me around the place, including the chapel, which made my jaw drop even further. After little deliberation, we decided to stay the night which was the only right decision - we were there just in time to enjoy the amazing spa (which we had all to ourselves), and the affordable price included a welcome drink and an amazing breakfast. But what really stood out for us in this place is the meticulous attention to detail; Everything was thought out and tastefully designed to the smallest details: the bar stools, the furniture, the room numbers and the list goes on and on. I'm quite a picky person, and try as may, I was not able to find a single thing I would have done differently in that place. We also wanted to call out the amazing bartender who served us with our welcome drinks, which turned into a 30 minutes excursion in Portuguese history and was just a pleasant encounter all around (unfortunately, I have forgotten his name since). All the staff were super courteous and nice, but the two employees I mentioned truly had made our stay an unforgettable one. I will go out on a limb and say that this place is prettier and more worthy of a visit than even the Jeronimos Monastery in Lisbon, because you have the whole place to yourself and can wander its hallways and amazing chapel and soak up the atmosphere to your heart's content. We cannot recommend this place enough. Furthermore, we will surely come back if and when we ever make it to this neck of the woods again. This is the ultimate romantic getaway in Portugal, imho.
