The proprietors, Paula and Marcelo Kohen wanted to open this hotel with an ecological idea after founding the highly acclaimed Mine Boutique Hotel. Since its 2008 opening, it has grown to be one of the few environmentally conscious hotels in the nation, giving environmental preservation top attention. The building's materials are all certified as being environmentally friendly. The hotel is dedicated to wellness culture and features a “living wall” - a vertical garden. One of the unique features of this hotel is bamboo bicycles. You can borrow bamboo bicycles from the hotel for free to explore the area and enjoy the open "honesty bar" that serves food that guests are trusted to pay for on their tab.

This place was lovely! They put me on the top floor, street level and it was quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was cute with a little bit of everything, the honest bar was helpful for last minute needs in the lobby, I appreciated items to snack or drink for a very reasonable price and the AC was excellent despite it being 93-97 degrees and humid outside.

We had a great time as a couple with a 4 months old. Great rooms, very clean, and amazing staff who helped us with everything. They gave us the room early, at 12pm

I thought about giving a 4 star review which would suit the hotel just fine but couldn't do it. Here's why: The hotel itself is quaint; it's small yet has large rooms for its layout. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and they include a jacuzzi and a massaging shower. We had a Nespresso machine as well as a partially stocked minibar; all of which were inexpensive. The common area in the ground floor is small and is were you'll be having breakfast. Said breakfast is pretty good but not great. Aside from their breakfast menu, I found that the rooms could use a little upgrading themselves. The TVs are definitely a couple of generations too old, the pillows were not the most comfortable, the air-conditioning was a little aggressive but effective and our shower had pressure issues when you used cooler water. The toilet is a glass door away from the room so there is no real acoustic privacy but my biggest gripe was the lack of power outlets - Nowadays people travel with several gadgets so having only a couple of available outlets was an issue. Having said all of that, the main reason for my 5-star review is the staff. They were incredible cordial and willing to help. I asked for advice and recommendations on more than one occasion and they went above and beyond each and every time. The owner also seemed glad to help whenever it was needed. All in all, they made our stay very satisfying and an easy 5 stars.

The location is great and the hotel is nice, but it does not fulfill the higher expectations of its price! The pillows are unconfortable, the shower is a little clogged, and the plants outside are dead, just to mention a few details. I also felt a little desapointed on how they handle reservations and dollars/pesos conversion rates.
